BP's flaring in Rumaila emitted 3.7 million tonnes of CO2 in 2021 – more than the yearly emissions of 2 million cars in the UK! Flaring also releases benzene, which the World Health Organization has linked to cancer. But this practice is avoidable. It's high time that shareholders take responsibility and demand the new BP CEO end gas flaring across the world.    But I don't want to take on this fight alone!
