Scientists don’t understand it

Climate scientists are freaking out.Earth's thermostat just broke, and they don't know why. We shouldn't see ocean temperatures this hot for another 20 years.Atlantic currents that regulate our entire climate are going haywire, and coral reefs from Mexico to Australia are blistering to death. This is mass extinction in our lifetime.Millions of people are already running from wildfires, famine, and floods every year -- and it'll only get worse. The climate crisis will affect us all for the rest of our lives. The younger you are, the more severe it could become. Our movement has a pivotal role to play, right now. The legal battle to stop a giant oil pipeline in East Africa is on a knife's edge; Indigenous communities in the Amazon are fighting for crucial protections; and a potential lawsuit against BP for their toxic oil fields is just taking off. The weeks and months ahead could be decisive.Avaaz is only as strong as its members – and now we're counting on your support to launch our emergency plan.Read more below -- but if you're already feeling the extreme urgency of this moment, please support our fight by making a regular donation. Avaaz is entirely funded by people like you, and the more we raise, the harder we can fight!
