The fire in us

We've faced dark times before -- but not anything like this. Authoritarianism is spreading like wildfire, igniting wars, silencing dissent, and tearing down human rights. The news is a cascade of horror. Trump jokes about building hotels on the graves of Gaza's children. Students are being arrested for speaking out, Indigenous leaders are under threat for defending the Amazon -- and countless families are starving in war zones around the world. Just when we need global solidarity the most, governments are slashing aid and walking away from global commitments. But here's the thing: The fire is also in us. We are not powerless. Every day, Avaaz members like you are proving that -- through small acts of fierce compassion that ripple across the world: As the Taliban hunts down women activists, our donations are helping them to reach safety, right now. When Indigenous leaders face immediate danger for protecting the Amazon, Avaaz members are helping to fund 24/7 security. And when Sudan's emergency kitchens ran out of food, risking the lives of thousands and thousands, members chipped in to try to get them running again. This is what global solidarity looks like -- and the world needs it more than ever. Now, if 10,000 of us make a small weekly donation, we can grow this life-saving work to meet the crucial moment we're in. If you've ever thought of donating, please give what you can now:
