Over the past two years, people across the world speaking out and protesting in support of Palestine have been under huge pressure. A Swedish dockworker was fired and classed a risk to 'national security' for taking part in a blockade of Israeli military cargo. Greek authorities issued arrest warrants against a trade union official involved in a protest against transporting arms to Israel. But these brave dockworkers are standing in a long and proud tradition of worker- and union-led fighting for global justice. During South African Apartheid, the Maritime Unions against Apartheid were central to weakening the racist regime.
